What package do I have???

I bought a used 2012 Versa SL with 1.8 engine, USA.

It has cruise control on the steering wheel, it works.

It has volume control on the steering wheel, it works.

It has Bluetooth for phone on the steering wheel, it works.

It has an electric push button on the hatchback to open it.

It has one door keyhole total.

It has cd player.

It does not have GPS.

When the car is turned off, there is a red blinking key light in the dash.

I was given one single key with a thin-ish black plastic head, no buttons on the key, and it has the Nissan emblem in the middle of the black plastic head.

I did not receive any keyless entry remote. Either it did not come with one, or the previous owner lost it.

Behind the glovebox, over on the far left, I can see the keyless module.

Based on all that, what package do I have? Do I have an intelligent key, or would a $2 key work? Would a keyless remote work... and if so, would the fancier "oval" shaped keyless work? Is there an alarm on the car?

Thanks!

It looks like you have the standard package. This link has a full set of specs for your car. :wink

2012*Nissan*Versa Specifications
what is your VIN number?
Well, now I don't know if it is SL or not. It could be S or SV.

There is not a spoiler.

There is no fog lights.

Inside the door, it says "G" ... which doesn't seem to be an option at all.

Under the hood, it says 1.8G

Does anyone know what "G" is?

When I GOOGLE the VIN number, it says it is a 2012 SL

So, are those missing features (fog/spoiler) not really standard like it shows they are standard on cars.com?

I don't have fogs or spoiler either, but I have two keyless remotes.
IMO you have SL w uprated stereo option. Your car does have alarm. If u try opening window, closing and locking car, reach thru window to open car without remote, alarm should go off, but I need the remote to stop the alarm!

Welcome to the forums. It might be an SE(2012 Special Edition). Enjoy.
I have the S, aka nothing. The only thing that is powered are the side mirrors.

I tried to set off the alarm, and was not able to do so. I locked the car with the inside electric lock button on the door, got out, and closed the doors. Then I reached through the window and unlocked and opened the door. Maybe the alarm is only active if you lock the door with the keyless?

So, trim level "G" might be a SE Special Edition? Interesting... I will see if I can find out anything about that. Thanks!

Ah ha! I found this on Edmunds.com, based on the suggestion from JoshG that it might be a Special Edition:

The Versa hatchback is available in S and SL trim levels. The base S comes with 15-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. The Plus package adds keyless entry and cruise control. With an automatic transmission, the S can also be equipped with a number of options. The Convenience package adds the Plus package, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth, steering wheel audio controls and an iPod interface. Also available are 15-inch alloy wheels. The Special Edition package effectively groups all of the above equipment together.

The Versa hatchback SL includes all the S model's optional equipment and tops it with keyless ignition/entry, a height-adjustable driver seat, upgraded upholstery, front and rear center armrests, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a six-speaker sound system. Available on the SL and S Special Edition is a Navigation package that adds the navigation system, a compact touchscreen interface and satellite radio.
So, the Special Edition is the "S" + Keyless and Cruise + Bluetooth and Steering Wheel audio. That describes my car perfectly.

It says the "SL" is the "S" + All "S" Options + Keyless Ignition + Height Adjust Seat (I don't have that) + Front/Rear Center Armrests (I don't have that) + AutoDim Mirror (I don't have that).

Based on that article, I have the Special Edition and not the SL.

Also, I have a standard auto transmission, not CVT. It says that CVT is standard on SL, but not on S.

... but the Car Title says "SL" and I thought the title was always 100% accurate?
