I just want to know what exactly will and wont void my warranty.... CAI? Rims? Lowering springs? exhaust? k&n filter? painted calipers?......etc.

Dealership told me adding an aftermarket alarm/remote start could 'potentially' void 'parts' of the warranty. AND the worst part is that they don't sell the Versa alarm here in Canada :( Boo.
if you install an aftermarket part and something goes wrong, they will have to prove that the part you installed is the cause of the problem... otherwise you are all good... what are you trying to do? what are your plans?
there is a law that states exactly wat skunk was saying. they HAVE TO prove that the problem was related to the aftermarket part. you'll be fine imo
oh ok cool.... i want a cai, rims, springs, and to paint my calipers mostly........ its the money thats the biggest problem and i though some of that stuff voided the warranty so....
how much does a cai increase hp? and mileage?
the only thing they will get you on warranty wise is the springs, only because if your struts go out they will blame the springs. but don't worry, there are so many pple that have the tanabes and havn't had any problems with struts. ive had mine for about 45,000 miles with no problems at all with my struts.

CAI does increase mileage but only if your not flooring it (which is addicting the first time you get it :p). im not sure about dyno numbers for CAI i think its around. HP increase is around 5-6, not sure on tq i think 6-7. i think someone else will probably know. i got my car dyno'd a while back with intake and custom exhaust, going to the dyno this sunday with the dc exhaust to check out new numbers
actually struts are wear and tear items... so if they blow... and you are under warranty it's on you anyway

cai: unless you install it improperly or go through a swamp your good
rims: if you axles or any other suspension components wears prematurely it wouldn't be covered under warranty anyway
painting calipers: if the calipers just mess up they likely won't replace em... (not overly expensive anyway)
Watch the language guys! Try to keep it family friendly here.

good luck on your modding hope you post some pics soon :p once you do the mod

CAI does a MINOR increase in hp. Its gotta be added with a combination of other parts like header, exhaust, intake mani, throttle body, engine tuning, cams, etc. to get a real gain. It will make the engine respond better, but not by a whole lot.
as mush as i have done to the versa nissan not said a word too me and im there like every 3 weeks and every time i need a oil change its free lol woman there takes good care of me lol but if something goes bad ill tell you like linda told me at nissan keep your old stuff and when something happens change it back and say you dont know what happen so fix it lol
LOL! Good idea! But for something like an alarm or remote start how do you rip that out? haha ! I'm just not going to add anything until the warranty is up.

If you get a remote start/alarm professionally installed, there shouldn't be any manufacturer warranty problems since you didn't work on it yourself. The installer would have some short term warranty, maybe a year and possibly pay more for longer.
I contacted my dealership though about it, and they said I can get it done elsewhere but if something happens with it parts of my warranty with them could be void. Seeing how I paid extra for the 7 year warranty, I don't want to void any part of it before that time period is up. I asked them about the alarm for the Versa through Nissan, and it's not something they can order in for us ...

yeah thats how mine is. I have 90 days from the installer, and 1 year from omega. they even pay for the uninstall and install if it becomes defective. But if nissan said something to me like that. I tell ya what. Id go back to the installer and pay him to take it out. And go back to the dealership, and be like "what now?" Cause they only tapped into my wires, he didnt cut them.
VersaS2009: I know, that could be one way but I don't want the hassle or worry. I usually get to park in the garage anyways so it's not a huge deal. I really wanted the alarm through Nissan but they don't sell it here in Canada :(
But the dealership told me that putting in an SL's radio in an S would void my warranty too!! But it worked, So screw them, go with ur gut. But if you are real unsure, yeah you pay more, but buy the NISMO products. It wont void a darn thing!! lol
Ya I won't be getting the remote start any time soon. If I do get it, it will mean no garage for me! I'd rather not have it and get to park inside.
I just keep thinking of the money I'm saving by not getting it, lol.
