I contacted my dealership though about it, and they said I can get it done elsewhere but if something happens with it parts of my warranty with them could be void. Seeing how I paid extra for the 7 year warranty, I don't want to void any part of it before that time period is up. I asked them about the alarm for the Versa through Nissan, and it's not something they can order in for us ...

VersaS2009: I know, that could be one way but I don't want the hassle or worry. I usually get to park in the garage anyways so it's not a huge deal. I really wanted the alarm through Nissan but they don't sell it here in Canada :(

Ya I won't be getting the remote start any time soon. If I do get it, it will mean no garage for me! I'd rather not have it and get to park inside.
I just keep thinking of the money I'm saving by not getting it, lol.

I have no clue why, but it's not a feature sold on Nissan Canada. The salesman looked through NIssan Canada's parts catalogue and could not find it. We do have heated mirrors and our keys just have the chip built into it. I am not sure if 2010's got the ikey or not, but our Cubes got the ikey here and push button start. I might email them again and see if the 2010s got the alarm and if it's a part now in Canada. I would like the alarm because I work in a sketchy area and lots of co-workers cars have been stolen / broken into before. Although I am pretty sure HK does a good job of scaring people away, haha. I doubt many guys want to drive her around ...

Hmm I just wonder why all SL models have the vehicle security as standard. I dont think anyone would break into your car to steal your hello kitty stuff lol. Have you tried testing it by leaving the window open, locking all the doors, then opening it from the inside?
Ya there is no alarm on my car, lol. You could open any door when it's locked and get in. You just can't start it without the chip being present in the car.

The panic alarm is something I have yet to ever use, and hopefully never have to use.
