Basically I am not having a fun time designing the layout for the DIY/Tutorial page on the website. I bunched everything together just to get some information but it looks terrible. Any ideas of things that you would like to see or wouldn't like to see on the tutorial?

Here is a link to a posted DIY on the site:

Let me know what it is missing or what it doesn't need.. I appreciate the help everyone.

Building and running a site is a PITA. I think you are headed in the right direction though. If you have the dream to keep it alive, then keep on trucking!
Good work. Suggestion : please post all basic info about our V like bulb size and replacement parts available and link it back to versaspeed shop.

Thanks man. I have an idea, I am going to make it look more like the news database that I made. Here is an example news post I made on the site:
http://www.VersaNation.com/updates/news_comments/news&id=6

I plan on doing this. I would like to "team up" with Promise Land and make a list and have all of the part #'s ready for people who need them. Basically like an index.
it says please login lol... part number would be nice but with images would be better :p
Register and Login. :p

lol I removed the code that requires you to be logged in to view the news articles.

What about images and part #'s! lol
i think it would be better if we remove the login part :p I'm already registered i think :p but this is to help the general public :p
Well if you provide part number i think it would look better if an actual image is provided also, so that people will know what they look like besides the name.
where pictures and part numbers is neat, it is a whole hell of a lot of work, unless you can get scans of the parts manuals and host them in downloadable versions

i don't even know if downloadable is a word
I forgot that it was on there, I was too lazy to make the part that needed to be restricted to members hidden so I just hid the whole page. haha

I just did it though so its all good.

BTW, I think you were registered on the old database but I deleted it cause I started completely over from scratch. Here is a list of the current members:

williamk10
Admin (me doing testing)

Oh I see! lol

I am working on a new layout for the modification area. I should be done within 20 mins and I'll show you to see if its any better. The other one was just boring.
Looks good, great idea on the info on maintenance items, I need to work on that in our forums here. (thinking maybee a sticky in the ust rhowto section?)

Dave,

Promise Land and I have been talking and we are thinking about sharing information together. He is compiling videos of FAQ and such and I think he has a bunch of part numbers that we can use. But if we merged information together we could make a big list. More of a working together thing instead of not sharing information. You'v been a big help to me so if there is anything I can do to help just let me know.

I agree, totally with ya there. I might just start a post and put some basic stuff on there, and have people add and edit the post to have one massive list of just about anything that needs replacing
Sounds like a great idea Dave. Once posted I will contribute to the post as much as I possibly can.

With that being said, I'v finished the basic skeleton of the website and it is 100% ready for people to use it without errors. I am still waiting for some people to post some more tutorials but until than we only have 1 posted by Rob.

I have some extra stuff that I will be working on just to get some extra features to the site but until than it is 100% ready to go! If you have a How To/DIY/Tutorial please feel free to post it to the site. I'm going to be trying my best to find ways to make it active with competitions/prizes and sorts of things like that...

Anyways, stop by and visit us! Post a tutorial, read the news, comment on it! :p

Cody, I can contribute some banners I made for NVF in the past and use them for VN if you want
Cody, you can use this, just remove the NVF logo and put in VersaNation.com and #1 Resource where the words are on the bottom

Sounds awesome dude. I am too lazy right now to get on Photoshop and make something. lol

I was thinking something along the lines of having a close up Versa on the right side and just having it say "VersaNation.com" in a Nissan logo on the left. Just simple and too the point. Maybe have a little slogan somewhere in the middle or something.

Also do you have any other NVF logos? I'd like to add one to the site somewhere since NVF has been the greatest V forum and has supported the site.
I have a few more banners I made somewhere on my harddrive, I can look.
