When I installed my HAM radio into my Versa, I ran a wire straight from the battery(hot) and the other wire to ground on fender.(ground does not connect to battery)
The hot wire has a fuse built in about 12" from the battery, drilled a hole in the main wire harness grommet, and ran it in that way....
