Good day friends. I have a 2007 Tiida Latio that I recently purchased. The problem is that the odometer or trip meters have not moved since. My speedo and tachometer are functioning fine tho. What could be the cause of this?
Thank you

Someone probably disconnected the odometer to reset it or not record kilometers. The person you bought it off of may have done it. In the USA, it is illegal.
and what people do not realize is all of that is done through the cars computer these days..

Where could it have been disconnected, at the transmisson or at the gauge cluster? I hope its just a disconnection and not faulty equipment which would require me to purchase a new gauge cluster

It is illegal here too but Jamaican laws are not as stringent as those in first world countries
Not sure how one would disconnect it on computerized cars. My first thought is removing a fuse or sending a code to the computer. I knew a guy that had a digital dashboard and was able to put the car in test mode which would not record mileage. Had to turn the car on while holding a button. Try googling the question to see what you get.
I googled and it looks like you might have a bad ECU (Engine Control Unit) or computer. Might end up having to replace it.
