I am driving a friend's 2015 versa note. This area can have high winds, often up to 70 mph and/or gusting winds. Due to being fairly light and boxy, I avoid driving it on highways when windy.
Is there anyway to increase the stability of it in high winds?

As someone who drives Tractor-Trailers, I would not be driving ANYTHING in winds that high.
Even a loaded semi can go over in winds that strong.

For that car, I would put a couple hundred pounds in it and hope for the best.
Thanks. A couple of months ago there was no wind, but I got a gust that pushed me 3 feet before I recovered. Even in town has sometimes been bouncy. I used to drive I 80 between Laramie and Cheyenne in a heavy sedan with no trouble, but I wouldn't drive it if the roads were icy the wind could slide you off the road.

the lighter the ride ..... the more MPG .... the less stable
the heavier the ride .... the less MPG ... more stability

If you want stability ..... buy a F250.

If you MPG then grip that steering wheel and keep her under 70mph

The first suggestion I give to increase MPG is to reduce weight.

I added 250 lbs of sand bags in various areas of the car. It definitely helped with the wind. It even had a smoother drive in low wind. By luck, I got back to town before the wind got extremely bad. For a few miles I was driving into the wind and could barely accelerate. For the last 22 miles I took a non interstate route that had a ridge blocking the wind. Wyoming is bad for wind 3 years ago one area had 110 mph winds. 1 year, my area had a year average of 65 mph winds. Thanks for the replies.
