Its the rod and bearing. And the head gasket is shot. They are ordering me a used engine assembly with 87,000 original miles for $800 0ff a website that specializes in selling used engines and transmissions.​

A lot of us are getting curious to see how many versa owners have had engine failures, issues etc.... if you have, please post your year, type of motor, etc and what issue you have experienced. i will sticky this thread so we have quick access to these issues.

My daughters 2015 brand new Nissan Versa engine failed at appx 20,000 miles, we had Nissan replace it, after a lot of arguments and the the same DAMNED thing happened again at 78,000 miles. The dealership is the ONLY place to “work” on the engine and the ONLY place we got the oil changed. Sadly, this time it is no longer under warranty. Both times the job ticket says valve seal failure. And now they want $10,000 to replace their defective engine.

I suggest that you file a lemon law filing with your state. Lemon laws do vary by state but it looks to me like Nissan is unable to fix the problem so I suggest this as your next step.
